Check out today’s Teatime Titbit: 6 words to sex up your job description.
Speaking about your job is a very important skill. Hope these 6 words help:
It involves/entails dealing with processing the incoming orders.
It involves/entails looking after international key accounts.
It involves/entails taking care of all the marketing.
It involves/entails seeing to the day-to-day running of the department.
Please notice that the verbs ‘involve’/’entail’ require that the next verb ends in ‘ing’ e.g. involves ‘dealing’. This part of grammar is known as the ‘gerund’ .
Equally you could take out the verbs ‘involve’/’entail’ and simply use one of the other ‘verbs’ in the simple present (for facts / things that don’t change) e.g. I deal with ……
Finally, ‘deal with’ / ‘look after’ / ‘take care of’ / ‘see to’ all mean more or less the same ‘sich um etwas kümmern’
Question Of The Day (QOTD): What’s your job entail?
to involve/entail (umfassen), ‘gerund’ (Gerundium).
My job entails looking after kindergarten kids, fighting fires from harmless to spectacular, acting as a circus director, saving the world by making the impossible possible, defending my folks as a mother lion, unleashing my superpowers when necessary, and of course, to cut a long story short, being a jack of all trades. You could also say my job involves leading the quality management team of an insulin delivery pump project with interdisciplinary members. 😉 so, that’s a typical job description for quality engineers in the development department, nothing special.
You sexed up your job description like a professional. Could be the perfect answer to good old interview question – „Describe your experience in your last Job“ I’d give you the Job!!!
