Wonderful Wednesday Words: Lurking
We all do it to some extent (bis zu einem gewissen Grad) on social media, I do too. It’s called ‘lurking‘ (sich versteckt halten) in the sense of you read blogs and watch vlogs but don’t contribute in any way. You say to yourself, “Oh, it doesn’t make a difference anyway – there are already so many likes and comments and what’s more, I haven’t got any time, I‘ve got work to do“.
As for Teatime Titbits, there is ONE more even bigger obstacle – you don’t want to make a fool of yourself (sich blamieren) by making a mistake in English. I completely understand.
The idea of my blog is also to give you the opportunity (Gelegenheit) to participate (teilnehmen) / contribute (mitmachen) and to get conversations going and as such practise your writing skills. Many a time I’ve sent readers personal feedback/corrections to their comments and I encourage you (ermütigen) to pluck up the courage (Mut fassen) to try it – What’s the worst that can happen?
